Contained Energy successfully installed a 5.76kWp PV system with solar trackers for the efficient use of the installed PV panels in Botha Villa, located in Sanur, Bali. By adjusting the panels’ orientation to face the sun throughout the day, the panels produce higher outputs.
This system also has a battery bank with two Outback charge controllers, which optimizes charging and discharging of the batteries. The two Outback 3kW inverters convert the power (from DC to AC) to run the loads in the house, like the 12 Phaesun VariCyclone fans and the pool pump.By using most of the energy produced by the solar panels during the day, the battery capacity is lowered, which significantly reduces installation costs as well as system efficiency.
The hot water is supplied by two Baymak XL collectors with 300L storage tanks as well as a gas backup heater for cloudy days.
The whole installation reduces electricity bills significantly, and this is why “green” energy installations are great investments. Solar installations also benefit the national grid as it abates daytime peak loads. While electricity costs will keep rising year after year, the system installed will also keep on producing.
