Communities Need Energy to Prosper
Indonesia, an emerging economy with over 250 million people on 18,000 islands, faces enormous challenges to achieve sustainable development in remote areas. Communities need reliable, affordable energy to provide clean drinking water, safe lighting, and stable communications to grow and prosper. Even in the most populated and well-known islands of the archipelago, Sumatra, Java, Bali, the energy infrastructure cannot meet rapidly increasing demand. In the more remote areas of Indonesia, it is often deemed economically unviable to provide conventional infrastructure. Communities in these areas need alternative solutions.
Smart, Sustainable Energy for Growth
The old paradigm of just burning cheap fossil fuel to supply energy can not be used anymore. Not only are fuel prices sharply increasing, but the environmental effects and inefficiency of small-scale energy generation mean that this model is not scalable. Instead sustainable models are needed that use sustainable, green energy to develop this prosperity, i.e. Green Prosperity.
Powering Communities Across Asia Pacific
Contained Energy has worked with Government, NGOs, donors, CSR programs and even communities themselves to enable this desired Green Prosperity. These projects have included:
- Solar well pumping projects
- Solar desalination plants
