Solar Concentrator

Our basic ‘parabolic trough’ solar concentrator is a 50 x 100 cm module made of a stainless steel reflector on a fiberglass frame, with a copper-coil in the focal point...

We ‘rate’ this module as giving us 50-100 Watt of heating.

Oil reaches a temperature of about 100 C in the coil.

They are usually oriented East-West and thus only need minor ‘seasonal’ azimuth adjustments.

Several units can be mounted on a bamboo frame.
